会員の皆様、
去る5月6日（水）、「新」和の交流会による昼食会が開催されました。少し曇り空で、ところによっては小雨がぱらつくお天気でしたが、合計13名の方々にご参加いただきました。会場は、昨年と同じく Ardmore にある Mikado/Thai Restaurant でした。
それぞれお好きなお料理を注文した後、参加者の皆さまによる簡単な自己紹介が行われました。あるメンバーの方はハワイからのゲストをお連れになり、また別のメンバーの方は、間もなく日本へ行かれる大学生の娘さんとご一緒に参加されました。さらに、新しく会員になられたご夫妻にもご参加いただきました。
お食事が始まると、皆さまそれぞれ美味しい料理を楽しみながら、和やかに会話に花を咲かせました。
この「新」和の交流会の大切な目的の一つは、家にこもりがちになりやすいシニアメンバーに、一人でも多く外へ出ていただき、他のメンバーとの交流を楽しんでいただくことです。日本語でも英語でも、あるいはその他の言語でも構いません。笑顔で楽しく語り合いながら、お互いの近況を分かち合い、また日本や世界の最近の話題に触れる機会となればと願っています。
もちろん、シニアメンバーに限らず、若い世代の皆さまのご参加も大歓迎です。ぜひお気軽にご参加ください。

Dear Members,
On Wednesday, May 6, the JAGP “New” Wa no Koryu Luncheon was held at Mikado/Thai Restaurant in Ardmore, the same venue as last year. Although the day was somewhat cloudy, with occasional light rain, a total of 13 people attended the gathering.
After everyone ordered their favorite dishes, participants introduced themselves briefly. One member brought a guest visiting from Hawaii, while another attended with her college-aged daughter, who will soon be traveling to Japan. We were also pleased to welcome a newly joined couple to the gathering.
As the meal began, everyone enjoyed the delicious food and lively conversation in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
One of the important goals of the Senior Wa no Koryu gatherings is to encourage senior members, especially those who may tend to stay home, to come out, connect with others, and enjoy meaningful social interaction. Whether in Japanese, English, or any other language, we hope participants can laugh together, share updates from their lives, and exchange thoughts on recent events in Japan and around the world.
Of course, these gatherings are not limited to senior members—we warmly welcome younger participants as well. Please feel free to join us at future events.
