| 会員の皆様、 2023年1月29日（日）に3年ぶりに対面での新年会を行いました。今回は当会会員のベル 俊子さんが長年お勤めになられたArcadia University内のグレイタワーズ キャッスルをお借りして行いました。このお城は目を見張るほど歴史の残る素敵な会場であり、雰囲気は抜群、会員の皆様と3年ぶりに対面で会える機会に相応しい場所となったと思います。写真を撮る場所もたくさんあり、最後に参加者が揃っての集合写真を収めることもできました。 事務局スタッフの献身的なサポート、非常に多くのボランティアの皆様、そして参加者の皆様が率先してお手伝いしてくださり、「会員のための会員でつくる新年会」になったと思います。また、今回の新年会はいつもと少し違った地域（Glenside, PA）で開催したことより顔ぶれも少し異なり、この新年会は色々な意味で活気を与えてくれたと感じています。 今回は11時15分から受付を開始。お餅つき・ラッフル賞品閲覧、続いて当会会長船木先生から年次報告をいただきました。新年会は11歳の天才バイオリニスト吉村 妃鞠さんの演奏で幕を開け、在ニューヨーク日本国総領事館からのご祝辞をいただき、乾杯、フィラデルフィアバレエ団の伊勢田 由香さんの優雅なバレエの動画を見ながらのお食事、タレントショー、そして最後に恒例のラッフル抽選会を行いました。限られた時間と予算の中で、色々と創意工夫して楽しい会になったと思います。 ご寄付やたくさんの賞品をご提供くださり、誠にありがとうございました。これらのご支援がなければ、お寿司や抽選会はありませんでした。この場を借りまして、心より感謝申し上げます。 最後に来年の新年会企画に参加してくださる方を募集しています。ご興味のある方はぜひお知らせください。皆様にとって素敵な一年になりますように！ フィラデルフィア日本人会 新年会コミッティ |
| Dear Members, On January 29, 2023, we held a face-to-face New Year’s Party for the first time in three years. This time, we rented the Gray Towers Castle in Arcadia University where Toshiko Bell, a member of the Japanese Association, has been working for many years. This castle is a wonderful venue with an amazing history, the atmosphere is outstanding, and there are many places to take pictures so we could take a beautiful group photo. Thanks to the dedicated support of the JAGP office staff, the many volunteers, and non-volunteers who took the lead in helping out, this party became a very enjoyable and memorable one. We think it has truly become “A New Year’s Party made by Members for Members”. Also, this year’s New Year’s Party was held in a slightly different area (Glenside, PA) than usual, so the lineup was a little different, and we feel that this party gave us energy in many ways. The registration started at 11:15, the mochi (rice cake) pounding and raffle prizes were viewed, followed by the annual report from the president of the Japanese Association, Dr. Funaki. The New Year’s Party began with a short performance by 11-year-old progidy violinist HIMARI, followed by a congratulatory message from the Consulate General of Japan in New York and a toast. Dining began while watching the elegant ballet video of Principal Dancer, Yuka Iseda, of the Philadelphia Ballet, followed by a talent show, and finally, a raffle lottery, as usual. Within the limited time and budget, we think that it was a fun meeting with a lot of originality and ingenuity. Thank you very much for all of your donations and prizes. Without these supports, we would not have had sushi trays, nor raffle drawings. Lastly, if you are interested in joining our New Year’s Party Committee, please let us know!
