会員の皆様、
9月10日(土)に「日米介護事情に迫る」セミナーをオンラインで開催、46名のお申し込みをいただき、およそ35名の方々にご参加いただきました。
セミナー前半は、ハワード・デビー氏によるプレゼンテーション。ハワード氏は日米介護の現状と課題をデータで示しながらご説明くださり、幾つかの実例を挙げて課題の解決方法を提示してくださいました。日米両国の高齢者介護問題にある「背景・問題点・解決策」を理解するのに大変役立つものだったと考えております。
その後、当会法人会員かつ本セミナースポンサーでいらっしゃるPrimary Financial の岩淵デービッド氏より、生命保険による介護費用の捻出についてのご案内がありました。
後半のQ＆Aでは、５つの事前質問および当日の質問に対し、デビー氏はそれぞれ丁寧に回答くださいました。また、追加質問のために、快くご自身の連絡先（セミナースライド最終ページに記載）を共有してくださるだけでなく、お役立ち資料を提供してくださいましたので、参考にしていただければ幸いです（下記参考資料をご覧ください）。
日米両国を含めた高齢者介護という全世界規模の大きな問題にタックルした今回のセミナーに続き、第二弾は11月5日（土）を予定しております。再びハワード氏をスピーカーとして迎え、海外に残したご両親のケアなど、難しい遠距離介護について彼女の経験も踏まえ深堀していく予定ですので、ご興味のある方はぜひご参加ください。

Dear Members,
On Saturday, September 10, we held an online seminar titled, “Sharing Best Practices: Caregiving in the US and Japan”. which was attended by approximately 35 people attended this seminar, and registered by 46 people.
The first half of the seminar was presented by Ms. Debbie Howard. Ms. Howard explained the realities and challenges of aging care in Japan and the US based on some data. From there, she offered numerous examples to show how aging care problems could be resolved. Her presentation was helpful in understanding the “background, problems, and solutions” of aging care issues.
Before the break, Mr. David Iwabuchi from Primary Financial gave a short presentation. He is one of our corporate members, and sponsor for this seminar. His presentation delved into defraying the cost of long-term care insurance options.
During the Q&A session in the second half of the seminar there were five pre-submitted questions, and one question from the live participant. Ms. Howard answered each question and offered to send her contact information (listed below on the last page of the seminar slides) for any additional questions and useful information to seminar participants (please see FYR below).
This seminar tackled the huge global problem of aging care including the US and Japan. As such, we have planned a follow-up webinar, currently scheduled for Saturday, November 5. Ms. Howard is being invited again as the speaker. We will dive deeper into the difficult issues of long-distance caregiving, or “Caring from Afar” with her experiences, so please join us if you are interested.
