過日お伝えしました通り、久石譲さんがフィラデルフィア管弦楽団の「コンポーザー・イン・レジデンス」に任命されました。その記念すべき最初の公演が、盛大な成功のうちに幕を閉じましたのでご報告いたします。公演に際し、楽団の皆様には、フィラデルフィア地域の日系コミュニティのために特別割引コードをご提供いただき、さらに二日目の公演後には久石さんとの交流の機会も設けてくださいました。As previously announced, Maestro Joe Hisaishi has been appointed Composer-in-Residence of The Philadelphia Orchestra. We are pleased to share that his first concerts in this role concluded with tremendous success. For these performances, the orchestra kindly provided a special discount code for our Japanese community, and on the second evening they also arranged an opportunity for attendees to meet Maestro Hisaishi after the concert.
楽団の発表によりますと、今後久石さんは、フィラデルフィアでの作曲学生への指導をはじめ、現代音楽シリーズのキュレーションや商業録音の制作を行い、2025–26年および2026–27年シーズン中はキメル・センターで同楽団を指揮される予定です。また、2027年春には、ピアニストのアリス＝紗良・オットさんのために書き下ろされた新作ピアノ協奏曲の世界初演も予定されています。According to the orchestra’s announcement, Maestro Hisaishi will continue his work in Philadelphia by mentoring composition students, curating a contemporary music series, and producing a major commercial recording. He is also scheduled to conduct the orchestra at the Kimmel Center during the 2025–26 and 2026–27 seasons. In addition, the world premiere of his newly composed Piano Concerto for Alice Sara Ott is planned for the spring of 2027.

フィラデルフィア管弦楽団は、世界屈指のオーケストラでありながら、地域社会への貢献を非常に重視する、市民に根ざしたオーケストラでもあります。日系の楽団員である首席ファゴット奏者ダニエル・マツカワさんをはじめ、楽団員の皆様は常に地域と音楽をつなぐ活動に積極的に取り組んでいます。以下の映像では、マツカワさんの編曲作品を、同楽団がヒスパニック系市民会館の招きでボランティア演奏した様子をご覧いただけます。The Philadelphia Orchestra, while known as one of the world’s finest ensembles, is also a civic-minded institution deeply committed to serving the local community. Principal bassoonist Daniel Matsukawa, who is of Japanese heritage, and other members of the orchestra are continually engaged in activities that connect music with the people of Philadelphia. The video below features the orchestra performing Mr. Matsukawa’s arrangement at a Hispanic community center, invited as part of a volunteer outreach program:
