会員の皆様,
4月5日（土）・6日（日）にFairmont Parkで開催された2025スバル桜祭りにて、当会はコロナ禍以来久しぶりにブースを出展しました。限られた準備期間での実施ではありましたが、多くの来場者にお越しいただき、大盛況の2日間となりました。
特に人気だったのは折り紙体験で、お子さんから大人まで多くの方が「鶴」や「かぶと」などの日本の伝統文化に触れることができました。新聞紙で作ったかぶとに名前を書く体験も非常に好評で、カタカナや漢字で名前を書いて差し上げると、とても喜んでいただけました。また、日曜日にはコーラスグループによるパフォーマンスも行われ、会場全体が和やかな雰囲気に包まれました。
今回は急な企画であったこともあり、ボランティアの募集や会員への周知が十分に行えなかった点が反省点として残りました。それにもかかわらず、多くの方が立ち寄ってくださり、当会の活動を広く知っていただく良い機会となりました。今後はさらに準備を整え、より多くの会員の皆様にご案内・ご参加いただけるよう努めてまいります。来年もぜひ多くの方にお会いできることを楽しみにしています。

Dear Members,
On Saturday, April 5th and Sunday, 6th, JAGP participated in the Subaru Cherry Blossom Festival 2025 held at the Fairmont Park. This was our first time hosting a booth since the COVID-19 pandemic, and although the planning came together rather quickly this year, we are happy to report that it was a huge success.
Our origami activity corner was especially popular, drawing in visitors of all ages who enjoyed learning how to fold cranes and samurai helmets (kabuto). The kabuto made from newspaper, where we wrote visitors’ names in katakana or kanji, was a surprise hit and brought many smiles. We were also delighted to host a JAGP Chorus performance on Sunday, which added a wonderful cultural element to the festival and gathered a warm audience near the food court.
Due to the short notice of this year’s participation, we were not able to widely recruit volunteers or notify our members as thoroughly as we would have liked. Still, the positive response from festival-goers reminded us of the importance of community outreach and cultural sharing. Next year, we plan to prepare more in advance and hope to involve more of our members and volunteers. We would love to see even more familiar and new faces at the booth.
